Cultivating Collaborative Doers

CHAPTERS

Given our growing volunteer networks in numerous regions, CARTHA began thinking about the establishment of interlinked chapters in the Fall of 2011. Indeed, we were essentially challenged by one of our 2011 Summer Student Interns to do so!

That Summer Student Intern, Ana Vasudevan, is now a CARTHA Board member.  As a freshman at the University of California-Berkeley, Ana has led the formation of CARTHA's first-ever student chapter called "CARTHA at Berkeley." As of October 2011, Ana has recruited four other students to become key participants in the birthing of the CARTHA at Berkeley student chapter.

CARTHA's chapters, including student chapters at Berkeley or elsewhere, provide a conduit for spurring innovative thought, community outreach, and cross-sector partnerships. GlocalizerTM forums are organized with Carthans to emphasize the social dimensions that influence and affect the human collaborative spirit that is indispensable for engaging in humanitarian endeavors. These inspiring dialogues and networking events are intended to create a springboard for the publics (including a range of academics, professionals, students, and community members young and old) to express, connect, and develop their own aspirations into collaborative project initiatives.

Currently, we are in the process of constructing a website featuring chapter activities and program participants at www.cartha.net which will become operational soon.

We are seeking financial support for such chapter activities.  If you are interested in partnering or contributing to such activities, we'd love to hear from you!
